Turn Space Engineers auto-respawn on or off

Auto-respawn controls whether players are automatically respawned or can choose a spawn point. Many communities turn it off so players can pick a medical room or survival kit after death.

What this changes

Turning auto-respawn off can help players choose their spawn location instead of being forced into the default behavior.

Where to edit it

  1. Open the VialStack panel.
  2. Go to Files.
  3. Open the active Space Engineers config or world config, usually Instance/SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg and the save files under Instance/Saves.
  4. Search for AutoRespawn.

What value to use

Use false to turn auto-respawn off and true to turn it on. Keep the XML tags intact and only change the value.

Apply and verify

Save the file and restart during a clear window. After restart, check the config again or ask support to verify the active server files if the behavior did not change.
